Casey organized the Mujaheddin to fight the Russians once they had been drawn into Afghanistan. Z. Brzezinski is still proud of what he did then. The Majaheddin were left dangling in the wind after they had done the job of severely decimating the Russians with American supplied arms, especially Stinger missiles, to bring down the Russian helicopters. Osama bin Laden was a CIA assett at one time - who became disenchanted and vengeful.
